When Japan Meets Peru: Where to Eat in Miami

This past summer, I vacationed in Miami, Florida for a bachelorette getaway. In addition to looking forward to the festivities, I was also anticipating the moment of trying a new restaurant. After spending an hour (or more) researching which restaurant to try, my best friend and I decided on SuViche.

From the moment we arrived, well, we were actually debating on where to park. So, from the moment we found parking, I was mesmerized by the restaurant’s interior and exterior. SuViche allows people to select their seating, which includes on their outside couches or swinging chairs. Although I was tempted to release my inner child on the swinging chairs, we decided to take a seat, inside, to escape the Miami Heat.

After selecting our table, we began to review their detailed menu. I appreciated their transparency, because I suffer from a common diagnosis of food allergies, which can be somewhat of an inconvenience when you ‘re a foodie, like me. In addition to having food allergies, I am making strides to become vegan. Needless to say, I have yet to reach my end. Given that, I ordered a house salad and the Coconut Roll (without avocado) consisting of seafood and dairy products lol.

Rather, we strive to create a new type of cuisine, one that blends the ingredients, traditions, and originality of each cuisine.

What made their food so delicious and their restaurant memorable? The food was freshhhh. The rice from the sushi roll was moist, but not mushy. And the spicy mayo—that truly topped it off. Of course, I had to order shrimp sauce to dip my sushi in because I’m a sauce type of girl! Honestly, everything tastes 3x better with sauce. (Needless to say, I did not capture a picture of my salad. Consequences of being super hungry.)

Hands down, SuViche was one of the most incredible restaurants I have ever been to! Not because they offered a seven-course meal with a live band, but because the employees delivered 5-star service and contributed to a new experience! For those of you traveling to the Miami area, SuViche is not the restaurant for strictly Japanese or Peruvian lovers, but it is for people who keep an open mind and food palate.
